The Magnetan is equipped with eight switches. The device is switched ON/OFF by means of switch # 8 (the furthest to the right). The other seven switches are used to select the desired Electromagnetic Pulse setting for the treatment program. Please consult the adjustment table below for symptoms and the appropriate switch settings and application points.

When the word "then" is indicated between the switch numbers, this means that treatment should commence only at the first setting indicated. Continue at this setting for 30 min. up to 1 hour, then change to the next switch setting indicated and continue for another 30 minutes up to one hour. If other switch settings are given, continue the treatment program by regularly changing to the next switch number indicated in the sequence. When the word "or" is used, this means that you should try both settings. When the plus sign (+) is indicated, it means that all of the indicated switches are combined to produce a given setting.

*EXAMPLE: for the general body treatment: Start with switch 4 only for 30 min up to one hour. Then change to only switch setting 5 for an additional 30 min up to one hour. Then continue with switch setting 3+5 only again for 30 min up to one hour, followed by the last switch setting 3+6 for 30 min. up to one hour. Repeat above alternating treatment at the second point of application, the nape of the neck. Repeat both application two to three times daily.

A further example: An irritative cough can also be treated with the same setting as is used for emphysema, because the irritation may stem from the bronchi and experience has shown that in some cases coughs can also be treated in this way. But you can also use these settings for bronchial asthma. It is therefore important always to treat oneself using several different and additionally recommended ("then" / "or") settings one after the other.

If you are not sure which setting is best for you do not hesitate to experiment with various possibilities. All the switch settings can be tried out. You will soon discover which is the best treatment setting for you.
The device should be placed as close as possible to the point to be treated, but it does not have to be in contact with the skin, and can be placed with either of its sides (front or back) against the point to be treated. The range of the treatment field extends for 20 cm ( 8 inches) in all directions. The Magnetan emits stimulating special bio magnetic impulses which penetrate the carrying pouch and clothing. It is best, however, if the device is applied to the points indicated in the table. This will increase the success of the treatment. You should always use the Magnetan in its pouch or insert the device in the carrying tube. The device should not have skin contact because of the body's humidity. Try to relax! For optimum results, adopt a comfortable, resting position. However, treatment can also be administered while you are sitting down, watching TV, reading, working or while walking.

Relief from pain or symptoms may be obtained after just a few hours, and some types of pain may be relieved within just a few minutes. Treatment time is dependent upon the symptom at hand, and generally requires longer for problems with longer histories. In some extreme cases, it may take days or weeks of continuous treatment before a positive result is achieved. Experience has shown that in smokers the success of the treatment may be delayed. During the course of treatment, it is important that you drink sufficient quantities of liquid (at least 4 glasses of spring or mineral water per day) so that accumulated harmful substances are more easily flushed out of your body - the therapy facilitates this process.
